Block Paved Driveway Extension | Wickford
Our team recently completed a driveway extension project in Wickford, transforming the front of this property with a neat a durable 500mm brindle block paving finish. The homeowners wanted to extend their existing driveway to create more parking space while maintaining a consistent look with the surrounding area.
Work Carried Out
- Excavation & Ground Preparation
- The existing lawn and top layer of soil were removed to the required depth. We then laid and compacted a solid sub-base using high-quality Type 1 MOT aggregate to ensure a stable and long-lasting foundation.
- Laying Course Installation
- A sharp sand bedding layer was levelled to provide a smooth, even surface ready for the new block paving installation.
- Block Paving Installation
- We used 50mm brindle blocks laid in a traditional herringbone pattern to match the original driveway. The edges were carefully cut and aligned to maintain a seamless flow between the new and old areas.
- Finishing Touches
- Once laid, kiln-dried sand was brushed into all joints, and the surface was compacted to lock the blocks firmly in place. The site was cleaned down and left spotless, ready for immediate use.
